I help visitors experience Japan beyond the guidebooks—through local neighborhoods, seasonal events, traditional culture, delicious food, and the everyday moments that make Japan so special. Having worked in the travel industry, traveled to all 47 prefectures of Japan, and spent years teaching and connecting with people from around the world, I love helping visitors discover a side of Japan beyond the guidebooks. While famous landmarks are certainly worth visiting, I especially enjoy introducing guests to places loved by local residents and experiences that many visitors might otherwise miss. From local festivals and historic neighborhoods to traditional tea ceremonies, Japanese papermaking workshops, local food experiences, and izakaya hopping, I enjoy helping guests connect with Japan in a meaningful and memorable way. Every experience is tailored to each guest’s interests, pace, and travel style. Whether you’re interested in Japanese culture, food, festivals, shopping, or simply exploring Tokyo like a local, I would be delighted to help create an itinerary that is uniquely yours. Drawing on my experience in the travel industry and my travels throughout Japan, I am also happy to offer advice and recommendations for destinations beyond Tokyo and help coordinate memorable experiences during your stay.
