プロフィール 東京・江東区生まれ。小学校から高校卒業まで長野県伊那市で過ごす。 中学時代に映像翻訳の仕事に憧れ、東京の大学で英文学を専攻。卒業後、アメリカ・カリフォルニア州オレンジカウンティに渡り、Santa Ana Collegeでコミュニケーション学を学ぶ。滞在中、故・江利チエミさんをはじめ多くの日本人ジャズボーカリストを輩出したCarl Jones氏にジャズボーカルを師事。留学中より、フリーランスの通訳・翻訳者としての活動を開始。 帰国後は、大手英会話スクールに講師として19年間勤務。同時に、企業向け英語研修の講師としても活動の場を広げ、延べ1,000名以上の指導実績を持つ。TOEICや自宅学習法などのセミナー講師としても活動中。 その他、アーティストの英語発音指導、英語学習雑誌への記事執筆、オンラインでの英語発音コーチング、門前仲町のフラ教室Halau O Kealalikolehuaでのキッズ向け英語フラレッスン講師、および東京都中央区日本橋浜町と月島に中央区スポーツセンターでのフラ教室インストラクターなど、幅広い指導経験を有する。 2017年から英会話教室「Honami English Dojo（HED）」を主宰。現在、プライベートレッスンからグループレッスンまで、受講生一人ひとりの目標に寄り添った丁寧なサポートを提供しながら、小学生からシニア世代まで、さまざまな年代の指導にあたっている。アットホームな雰囲気の中で楽しく、実践的な英語力を身につけられるレッスンを行い、日常英会話、ビジネス英語、英検対策、TOEICスコアアップ、発音矯正など、多彩なニーズに対応している。 その他、アーティストへの英語発音指導や、英語学習雑誌への記事執筆、オンラインでの発音コーチングなども行う。 また、門前仲町のフラ教室 Halau O Kealalikolehua にてキッズ向け英語フラレッスンを担当しているほか、中央区の日本橋浜町および月島にあるスポーツセンターでのフラ教室でもインストラクターとしても活動をスタートさせた。 翻訳業では、主に映像翻訳および字幕制作を専門として、音楽番組やライブDVD、ハリウッドスターのインタビュー映像、授賞式、ドキュメンタリー、ドラマ、エクササイズDVDなどを多数担当。マライア・キャリー、レディー・ガガ、ジェニファー・ロペス、ニッキー・ミナージュ、ハワード・ジョーンズ、オフスプリングなど、海外著名アーティストのCD歌詞対訳を手がけたほか、日本のアーティスト向けの英訳や、企業HP・資料の翻訳にも携わる。 通訳としては、マイケル・ジョーダン主催のバスケットボールキャンプ、宇宙飛行士・若田光一氏との国際交流プログラム、FIBAバスケットボール世界選手権、ジャパンカップサイクルロードレース、ラジオ番組、企業セミナー・商談など、さまざまな現場で活動。 音楽、とりわけR&Bやソウルを愛し、ReadyMixというユニットで作詞（英語・日本語）とボーカルを担当。不定期にライブ活動を行っている。2017年に1stアルバム『Someday You Will』を全世界にリリース。Apple Music、Spotify、Amazon Music などで配信中。FM福井、レインボータウンFMなどでのラジオ出演経験もあり。 保有資格 ・TOEIC 990点（満点） ・英検1級 ・EFDフラワーアレンジメントインストラクター（1級） ・調理師免許 趣味 フラダンス、料理、フラワーアレンジメント、音楽鑑賞、アクセサリー作り、愛犬のチワワと遊ぶこと、旅行、ウォーキング、サイクリング、BBQ、花火鑑賞、お神輿担ぎ、盆踊り Bio Born in Koto Ward, Tokyo, and raised in Ina City, Nagano Prefecture from elementary through high school. Inspired by the world of media translation since junior high, she majored in English literature at a university in Tokyo. After graduating, she moved to Orange County, California, where she studied Communications at Santa Ana College. While living there, she studied jazz vocals under Mr. Carl Jones, a former member of the Delta Rhythm Boys, who had taught many renowned Japanese jazz vocalists, including the legendary Chiemi Eri. Also, she began working as a freelance interpreter and translator during her stay. After returning to Japan, she spent 19 years teaching at a major English conversation school. At the same time, she expanded her career as a corporate English trainer, providing instruction to over 1,000 learners. She is also an experienced seminar speaker, delivering sessions on TOEIC strategies, effective self-study methods, and more. Her teaching experience extends beyond the classroom to include English pronunciation coaching for singers, writing articles for English-learning magazines, and providing online pronunciation lessons. She also conducts children's hula lessons taught in English at Halau O Kealalikolehua in Monzen-Nakacho, Tokyo and serves as a hula instructor at the Chuo Ward Sports Center in Nihonbashi-Hamacho and Tsukishima, Tokyo. Since 2017, she has been running her own English conversation school, Honami English Dojo (HED). She offers both private and group lessons, providing personalized support tailored to each learner’s goals. Her students range from elementary school children to senior adults. With a warm and friendly atmosphere, her lessons are designed to be enjoyable while helping students build practical English skills. She covers a wide range of needs including daily conversation, business English, Eiken preparation, TOEIC score improvement, and pronunciation training. In her translation work, she specializes primarily in audiovisual translation and subtitle production. She has translated a wide range of content including music programs, live concert DVDs, Hollywood celebrity interviews, award shows, documentaries, TV dramas, and fitness DVDs. She has also provided official lyric translations for internationally renowned artists such as Mariah Carey, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Nicki Minaj, Howard Jones, The Offspring, etc. In addition, she has translated English lyrics for Japanese artists, as well as corporate websites and business documents. Her experience as an interpreter includes high-profile assignments such as accompanying Michael Jordan’s basketball camp, working on an international exchange program with astronaut Koichi Wakata, and interpreting for events such as the FIBA Basketball World Championship, Japan Cup Cycle Road Race, radio programs, corporate seminars, and business meetings. She has a deep passion for music, especially R&B and soul, and serves as the songwriter (in both English and Japanese) and vocalist for her music unit, ReadyMix. The group performs live on an irregular basis. In 2017, they released their first album, Someday You Will, worldwide. It is available on streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon Music. She has also appeared on radio programs including FM Fukui and Rainbowtown FM.
